What relevance do you attribute to social media channels?
For artists, social media is a simple and very direct way to communicate with their fanbase and let them participate in current events. You get unfiltered feedback and the contact with people also motivates me in my daily work.
You founded your own label "Rocky Beach Music". How did you come up with the idea of setting up a label and why?
I was previously under contract with another label, but I appreciate the freedom of being able to control everything myself and having an overview. I have a high operating temperature and great ambition. I can't always take that for granted with everyone else, which is why the current setup is simpler and more effective.
What marketing measures do you use to promote your releases?
In addition to social media, I have a long and trusting working relationship with CO2-Promotion, who handle the club and radio promo. In addition, 4MA has also taken over the radio promo for the last singles and the album. A PR agency is also involved in the print sector. So a lot of promotion, but there's hardly any other way if you want to draw attention to your product.
What is the most important source of income for you as a professional musician? Online sales, CDs or live performances?
In the end, it's the sum of everything. However, it is undisputed that live gigs are more important than ever for musicians today, because with Spotify and the like, you need a wide reach to generate lucrative revenue.
You released your latest album "MJ2" in September. What can we expect from you next?
Now it's time to take a breather and get together. Producing an album is a special feat in times of singles. For now, the tracks from the album will be released as singles with great remixes and then new material will certainly be released again from mid-2017.
