You recently released your new single "Love Me Right". What is "Love Me Right" about? What is the message?
It's about loving yourself and being who you are. Stay the way you are, no matter what others say.
Your father, George Alaba, was in the music business himself. Did your father influence your musical development?
Yes, definitely. Both my parents. My mom's family is very musical. My grandparents too. That means that music has always played a big role.
How important are social media and PR in marketing your music?
It is important. Especially because young people, but also older people, are very active. But I also try to use social media to show people who I really am and not "just" the girl behind the microphone.
Your brother is the soccer star David Alaba. Do you think that your brother's fame has opened doors for you more easily? Does it actually bother you to be identified as "the sister of"?
I am very proud of my brother. For me, he has achieved something that is incredible. I owe him a lot, but I must also have talent. I've been making music since I was 6 years old and always knew I wanted to be a singer and turn my hobby into a career. It doesn't bother me at all. It reminds me of how much my brother has achieved. And it inspires me.
Your number was written by Rodney Hunter (well-known electronic musician and DJ, editor's note). How did the collaboration with him go?
Rodney is a great producer and DJ. We complement each other really well and understand each other blindly. He always knows what I mean. It's a lot of fun working with him. He's really got what it takes.
