What makes you different from other authors?
Well, every author or artist brings their own personality and has a different focus in their work due to their training, development and experience. I am a children's songwriter with an educational focus and primarily write, publish, publish and license children's songs for younger children of nursery, kindergarten and early school age.
How important is digital marketing on online platforms for you?
Definitely a big one! Even though the CD still plays an important role in the children's sector, I must and want to remain open to all new and upcoming opportunities for distribution and marketing.
You have chosen the self-publishing route for your current productions. What prompted you to do this and do you think this distribution model will catch on?
That's not 100% correct, because I'm just as happy to work with other publishers or cooperate with labels and distributors via licenses. I don't rule anything out and am always open to new ideas if they benefit everyone and perhaps result in new, beautiful products.
I just like publishing, I enjoy creating CDs, books or online bundles and sending them out into the world. As I have always written a lot and can be very impatient, it was inevitable that I would eventually become my own label and publisher.
Which source of income is most important to you as an author? Online sales or CDs?
Off the top of my head: at the moment, both are about equally important. "On the side", I also give concerts or run training events. One complements the other or even expands it.
What can we expect from you next?
I'm a fan of themes and my favorite topic in the children's song area is the lantern season around the St. Martin's festival. There are several new releases coming out this year - and the first ones are already available - as CDs, online and also in the form of songbooks.
