Top priority
It is forbidden to upload or offer music, eBooks, audio books or image material via the Feiyr portal and your provider account if you do not own the rights. All productions, remixes, cover versions and texts that contain third-party material must have the written consent of the respective rights holder, regardless of scope or length. (Even if you only use a few seconds or individual samples)
Due to the worldwide distribution via our service, it is certain that illegally uploaded content may have legal consequences. This can mean considerable costs and claims for damages for you. Record companies and rights holders usually take decisive action against such infringements. As a pure digital distributor, intermediary or distributor, you are solely liable to law enforcement authorities and rights holders.
In the event of a request from portals, cooperation partners and law enforcement authorities, we are obliged to pass on your contact details to third parties. To ensure that your data in your Feiyr account is correct, we check it by requesting your mobile phone number and e-mail address. In addition, we will send you a pin code by post to legitimize your address. It is also necessary to provide a bank account or PayPal etc. on file.
Please note that by agreeing to the license agreement, you confirm in writing that all the data you have provided is correct and that all the music, eBooks, audiobooks and physical products you offer, such as printed books or CDs, are free from third-party rights and that you have the necessary rights for distribution.
If you pay attention to all of this, nothing will stand in the way of successfully marketing your products.
We wish you every success!

For your first publication, it may even take up to 180 days before the first income is received for technical reasons. We therefore ask you to be patient - as soon as the portals provide the data, we will credit your earnings as quickly as possible. As soon as your balance is at least €25, you can withdraw your earnings at any time. You can choose whether you want to receive the payout to your bank account or your PayPal account.
It usually takes us around 2 working days to process your payout request. Please note that the duration of the transfer may vary depending on the bank - so it may take a little longer for the money to actually reach you.

Do you record all the songs?
You can upload any song to Feiyr as long as you have the necessary rights to it.
You may only publish music that you have produced yourself or for which you have the corresponding rights of use.
This also applies to remixes and cover versions: If you want to publish a cover version, you must ensure that the original song has already been officially published and that you have cleared the necessary licensing rights (e.g. via GEMA or a similar collecting society).
For remixes, you also need the permission of the original rights holder. You may not distribute music to which you have no rights - i.e. other people's songs without permission - via Feiyr. -
Do I need a label?
To publish your music with us, you don't need an "official" label or a publisher.
As long as you own all the copyrights to your songs, you can offer and sell your songs with us. So you don't need to have a record company or anything similar, you can get started at any time. For your label name at Feiyr you have to make sure that it is not already occupied by an existing label. Also pay attention to the trademark rights. For example, "Coca-Cola Records" would be a trademark infringement.
Legal info:
- The licensor expressly guarantees that the files posted and published on DANCE ALL DAY (DAD) will not be distributed by any other distributor or download portal.
- The licensor expressly guarantees that the "Labels" posted on DAD will not be distributed or offered on any other distribution or download portal.

To upload your songs to Feiyr, you must submit your audio files in WAV format, with a sampling rate of 44.1 kHz and 16 bit in stereo.
This is the standard for digital music distribution. If you also want to distribute high-resolution audio formats (High-Resolution Audio), this is also possible - but only with some selected partners.
In this case, you can use files with higher quality such as 24-bit WAV or FLAC. -
How long does a publication take?
After you have submitted your release to Feiyr, it usually takes 2 to 3 working days for it to be checked and approved.
Depending on the store or streaming service, it can then take a different amount of time for your music to appear online - usually between 1 and 4 more days.In total, you should therefore allow about a week.
If you want a specific release date, you can take this into account when planning and upload accordingly in advance. -

Dance All Day Musicvertriebs GmbH is claiming my video, what should I do?
If your YouTube video is claimed by Dance All Day, this is because Feiyr is part of Dance All Day Musicvertriebs GmbH.
You activated the YouTube Content ID in your Feiyr account during the publishing process. This not only claims content that other users upload to YouTube, but also your own videos in which the music in question is used. You now have various options for dealing with this:
- You can simply leave the claim in place - YouTube will then automatically record the potential revenue and bill it through your Feiyr account. In this case, you can ignore the notices and messages in your YouTube account; they will have no negative impact on your channel.
- If you have accidentally activated the YouTube Content ID and do not want your videos to be claimed, you can deactivate the function in your Feiyr account. If you monetize your videos yourself or if your track is featured or promoted on another channel, you should add this channel to the approval list before publishing.
Then send the relevant video links to Feiyr support so that the claim can be removed.

What do I need to publish my own eBook with Feiyr?
To publish your own book as an eBook via Feiyr, you need some basic materials and have to fulfill certain requirements.
- First of all, your eBook needs to be in ePUB format, as this format is supported by most e-readers and mobile devices. If you do not yet have your book in ePUB format, you can also submit a Word file - Feiyr will then do the conversion for you.
- You will also need a cover in JPG format that measures at least 3,000 pixels on a page. An attractive, professional cover is crucial to arouse the curiosity of potential readers. If you don't have your own cover, Feiyr's graphics team can design one for you. It is important that the cover is not only uploaded separately, but also correctly stored in the ePUB file as a cover - i.e. not simply inserted as an image, but technically marked as a cover image. The recommended size for this is at least 625 x 1000 pixels or correspondingly larger proportions. You have to do the embedding yourself, as Feiyr does not take care of this step for you.
- If your eBook is in the so-called fixed layout format - for example in the case of specially designed children's books or illustrated books - you must also upload a PDF version of the eBook. In this case, three preview images are also required. These must be in JPG format and have precisely defined dimensions: either 1024x768, 1024x748, 768x1024, 768x1004, 2048x1536, 2048x1496, 1536x2048 or 1536x2008 pixels. Other image sizes are not accepted. Make sure that each preview image shows a different section of your eBook - the cover may not be used again.
You can also find further helpful information on creating and uploading your eBook in an explanatory video from Feiyr.
-
Can I distribute Public Domain/Common Domain eBooks through you?
In principle, you can do this, but some stores may not accept your eBook and offer it for sale, including Amazon.
Amazon will only make an exception here if your eBook has an individual added value that distinguishes your eBook from other versions. This could be new illustrations or a rewritten version, for example.
Please note, however, that this is decided by the stores at their own discretion and we have no influence on this decision.
-
Does Feiyr offer copy protection?
Yes, FEIYR offers copy protection for eBooks. We use a soft DRM (Digital Rights Management) or watermark to protect your eBook.
Soft DRM allows us to add an invisible mark to your eBook that makes it possible to identify the author. This makes unauthorized copying and distribution of your eBook more difficult. With this copy protection, we want to ensure that your intellectual property is protected and is not distributed or copied without your consent.
It is important to note that as the author of your eBook, you automatically own the copyright to your work. This copyright allows you to decide on the distribution and use of your eBook. Feiyr supports you in protecting your copyright and protecting your eBook from unauthorized access.
Some eBook readers have problems with the correct playback of eBooks with hard DRM. For this reason, we use soft DRM to ensure compatibility with different readers and platforms. Soft DRM offers a balanced solution that ensures the protection of the eBook while making it readable on different devices without any problems.
Please note that copy protection is not absolute and can be circumvented by technically savvy users. Nevertheless, copy protection is an important hurdle to make unauthorized copying and distribution of your eBook more difficult.
-
Will my eBook be delivered to all countries?
With FEIYR, you can distribute your eBook worldwide and reach potential readers all over the world.
However, FEIYR has no direct influence on the listing of your eBook in the individual countries. The decision is up to the distribution partners and platforms, who may have their own selection criteria, quality standards and regional restrictions.
To increase the chances of your eBook being available in many countries, we recommend that you select a wide range of countries when publishing.
FEIYR works closely with distribution partners to ensure optimal presentation of your content. However, there is no guarantee of a listing in all countries, as this depends on external factors. -
Can I publish with my own ISBN?
If you would like to publish your title as a publisher, you can of course use your own ISBN.
We will then list your title with all bar retailers - in this case you will have to register it in the VLB yourself. The prerequisite is, however, that you have your own contracts with the bar ranges.
If you have a free ISBN assigned by us, we will take care of the listing in the VLB for you free of charge. However, if you use one of our ISBN numbers, you are obliged to list us as the publisher in the imprint.
-
How do I know whether my eBook is designed in "reflowable layout" or "fixed layout"?
When creating your eBook, you can choose between two basic layout types:
- Reflowable Layout (flowing layout) and
- Fixed Layout -
depending on how your book is designed.
The reflowable layout is ideal for text-based eBooks with simple formatting.
The content automatically adapts to the display size and the reader's settings, which ensures a pleasant reading experience.
There are two common formats in this area:- ePUB 2 is particularly suitable for books that consist mainly of text, but may also contain images, tables or boxes. It is kept simple and is supported by all partner stores.
- ePUB 3 also offers the option of using audio and video files as well as embedded fonts. This format is ideal for multimedia texts and is also supported by all partner stores.
The fixed layout is mainly used if your eBook has an elaborate design - for example for illustrated books, children's books or layouts with several columns. Unlike the reflowable layout, the design remains fixed here, regardless of the display size or user settings.
If your eBook corresponds to the structure of a print book, you should create it in ePUB 3 format with a fixed layout.
In addition to the ePUB file, you also need a PDF version and three preview images to give the reader an impression of the content. These preview images must be in JPG format and have exactly one of the following sizes: 1024x768, 1024x748, 768x1024, 768x1004, 2048x1536, 2048x1496, 1536x2048 or 1536x2008 pixels. -
Can I change a published eBook at a later date?
You can subsequently change an eBook that has already been published by carrying out an update. One free update per eBook is possible once a month. You can carry out up to ten free updates per month, provided they are different eBooks. A fee of 9.90 euros is charged for each additional update.
Changes to your eBook are made directly in your Feiyr account. After logging in, you will find the option to edit your eBook under "Published eBooks". You can make changes and upload new files using the edit button next to the respective title. Once you have made your changes, all you have to do is save your entries.
Please note thatall changes made will be checked again before final publication.

Audiobook quality: requirements from Audible and other audiobook platforms
If you want to produce an audiobook or audio drama for platforms such as Audible, you should observe certain technical requirements to ensure high audio quality and comply with platform standards.
The audio files must be in WAV or FLAC format, in 2-channel stereo with a constant bit rate, at least 44.1 kHz sampling frequency and 16 bits per sample. PCM (Pulse Code Modulation) coding is required. The recordings should be free of background noise and the RMS level must be between -24 dB and -14 dB.
Silence at the beginning or end of a track must not exceed three seconds - even longer silent passages within a track should be avoided. Individual tracks must not be longer than 60 minutes and (except for the intro and outro) at least 3 minutes long. The total running time of your work must be over 10 minutes to be accepted by Audible.
For a professional result, it is advisable to leave the post-production to an experienced sound engineer. This will ensure that your audio book or audio drama can be published smoothly on platforms such as Audible.
-
How do I know whether my product is an audio book or an audio play?
The following differences will help you to determine whether your production is an audiobook or a radio play:
- An audiobook is usually read aloud by a single narrator - either unabridged or in abridged form. Background music is not permitted. However, short noises between chapters to set them apart are fine.
- A radio play, on the other hand, is a staged version of the text with several speaking voices embodying the various characters. Music and sounds are permitted and serve to enhance the atmosphere and make the listening experience more vivid.
- An audiobook is usually read aloud by a single narrator - either unabridged or in abridged form. Background music is not permitted. However, short noises between chapters to set them apart are fine.
-
What should I bear in mind when creating an audio book or audio game?
When publishing an audiobook or radio play, similar rules apply as for music productions, but there are some important special features.
- If your audiobook contains chapters, these should - if possible - also be used as track titles. Please note that the title of the entire audiobook must not appear in the track name, even if it is only a single track or there are no real chapters.
The naming of the tracks must follow certain guidelines.
- For example, simple chapter names such as "Chapter 1", "Chapter 2" or pure titles such as "How it all began" or "Adventures in Windhoek" are permitted.
- If a chapter is divided into several sections, you can use the addition "Part", for example in the form "Chapter 1 (Part 1)" or "How it all began (Part 2)". Combinations with number and title are also permitted, for example "Chapter 1: How it all began" or "Chapter 2 - A surprise". It is important that the term "part" is only used if a chapter has actually been divided into several sections - it is not used for general numbering of all chapters.
In addition, certain technical requirements apply:
- Each track should be at least three minutes long - with the exception of the intro and outro, which may be shorter.
- No track may be longer than 60 minutes.
- In addition, there must be no more than three seconds of silence at the beginning and end of a track.
- The total running time of the audiobook must be at least ten minutes, as Audible does not accept productions below this limit.
In the case of very long audiobooks, it should also be noted that products with over 500 chapters can lead to technical problems on some streaming platforms. In such cases, you should split your work into several individual releases. If you are planning to include more than 150 tracks in your audiobook, you must contact the support team beforehand to activate this function.
If you have any questions or need assistance before publication, the support team is available to you free of charge.
-
What do I have to consider when creating my contributors?
It is permitted to publish both audio books and audio plays under a pseudonym. Unlike in the field of music, the pseudonym may also be given as lyricist/author.
For audiobooks, the narrator is usually given as the performer, for radio plays the author.
In the radio play section, composers must also be named in addition to the narrators, performers and authors. Please note that no website should be entered here, but the actual name.
-
Is it guaranteed that my audio book/audio play will be published on Audible, for example?
No, there is no guarantee that your audiobook/audio play will be published on certain platforms such as Audible, Thalia, Spotify. The usual market conditions apply to the distribution of audiobooks. The platforms purchase their content themselves and decide independently which audiobooks they want to include in their range.
As a rule, however, almost all works distributed via FEIYR are listed on the various portals.
Audible has special requirements. Here, audiobooks are only included from a catalog with over 15 published audiobooks or with an accepted, separate title or publisher/label application. You can submit this in your Feiyr account.
