The teacher was the role of my life - but my life is still long. Hendrik Duryn writes as he is:...

The teacher was the role of a lifetime - but my life is still a long one. Hendrik Duryn writes the way he is: passionate and honest, argumentative, stubborn, edgy, whimsical and always ready to laugh at himself. Find out more about him and his experiences as a writer in this blog post!

1. what inspired you to become a writer?

I am not a writer. I started writing because I wanted to provoke my mother with my view of my childhood to authentically recapitulate her own youth. I wanted/want to understand my conflicts, which I deal with over and over again,
, to understand their origins so that I can "give them back" to those who caused them.

2. how do you deal with writer's block?

I don't have any, because I don't have any "pressure", I don't want to prove anything to anyone. I assess myself for myself and not for or from the perspective of others. This liberates me and frees me from the social obligation to conform.

3. how important is it for you to receive feedback from readers?

Relatively. I'm mainly interested in whether the idea has been received. Praise is a relative pleasure. After all, I know best what I've written. I'm interested in the reader taking a look at themselves.

4. would you say that writing your biography has changed you?

No, it has pushed me further. Your own life (including your ancestors) is a journey forward looking back...
