Why do some online-portals report only few sales or even no sales at all?
Major stores such as Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon in particular often report far fewer sales than expected. This is usually because expectations were too high. Please bear in mind that 60,000 songs are released on these platforms every day.
It is mainly well-known artists and labels that are promoted in these stores. The rest disappears in the database and can only be found by searching.
If your artist is unknown, they will of course not be searched for and therefore not bought or streamed - despite the large global reach of these stores.
In order to make unknown artists really well known and thus to be noticed by these stores in playlists, news lists and charts, professional promotion over a long period of time and, of course, the corresponding quality is required.
