GOOGLE PLAY MUSIC IN SOUTH AFRICA

09.12.2015
Google introduced its streaming music service in South Africa. Local music fans will have pass to 35m songs from both local and international artists. After the initial free trial, the service will cost 49.99 rand ($3.50) a month until January. South African users can access Google Play Music through apps for Android and iOS, as well as via web on play.google.com.
The streaming service allows users to upload their own tracks (up to 50,000) for free and to “pin” albums and playlists for playing them offline, which is useful in Africa where many people don’t have unlimited Internet access.
South Africa has the most advanced digital music market in Africa. Google Play’s launch follows that of Apple Music last June. French-owned service Deezer is also available.

Google Play is one of Feiyr’s partner shops.
