DJ Hell releases his new album
Zukunftsmusik on 12.05. We've had to wait a long time: “Zukunftsmusik” will be released eight years after his last studio album “Teufelswerk”. The long-awaited release from
DJ Hell will be released on his label International Deejay Gigolo Records.
On his new album, one of the most innovative artists in electronic dance music shows us his passion for breaking down rules and style boundaries: “Zukunftsmusik” serves as a reflection of his eclecticism - the album is a fusion of electronic music from the 70s and 80s and new synthesizer experiments.
DJ Hell has “mixed the past with the present and the near future to create something new”.
“Zukunftsmusik” is also to be understood as a homage to homosexual club culture: The video for the first single release “I Want U” features animated gay comic artwork by the late Finnish artist Tom of Finland. Remixes of the single were created by Marcel Dettmann, Terence Fixmer and The Hacker, among others. The album also features the Stereo MCs as featuring artists.
Helmut Geier worked on this album for more than two years. The result is a synthesis between past and future that one would not have expected from DJ Hell.
Zukunftsmusik will be released digitally, on CD and vinyl on
12.05. and can be pre-ordered from April 28th.
