Spotify is partnering with Genius (the world's largest crowdsourcing platform for song lyrics) to integrate a new backstory feature. The feature is currently only available in two special playlists: “Behind The Lyrics: Hip Hop” and ‘Behind The Lyrics: Hits’. Genius provides users with additional information about the songs, such as lyrics, fun facts, backstory and comments. This gives artists the opportunity to interact with their fans. The feature is currently only available for iOS, but Spotify subscribers and freemium users can also access it at www.genius.com.
