Changes to the YouTube Partner Program (YPP)

23.01.2018
On January the 16th YouTube announced new requirements regarding the YouTube Partner Program. Those changes become effective for existing channels as of February the 20th. The changes to the YouTube Partner Program are meant to ensure safety and prevent monetization of stolen, illegal or harmful content.

The new eligibility requirements for monetization are as follows:

  • 4,000 hours of watchtime within the past 12 months

  • 1,000 subscribers

  • 10,000 lifetime views

If your channel doesn't meet the eligibility requirements, it will be demonetized.

What does that mean for you?
All channels, even those in our network, need to meet the eligibility requirements in order to monetize their videos. Nevertheless, all channels are able to remain in our multi channel network.
If your channel meets the requirements at a later time, YouTube will review your channel, so it can be monetized again.

You can find the official announcement here.
