Spotify has partnered with Genius (the world’s largest collection of songs lyrics) to launch a new backstory feature.
The streaming service has introduced two brand-new Genius-powered playlists, “Behind The Lyrics: Hip Hop” and “Behind The Lyrics: Hits”. Tracks on these playlists include lyrics, fun facts, backstory and commentary that pop up while you are streaming a song. This is a new way for artists to connect with fans, as they can share their story “behind the lyrics”. The feature is currently available for iOS only, but it can also be accessed via www.genius.com and will be available to both premium and free users.
