Once again this year, the annual Business Report was presented at IMS Ibiza, summarizing the key figures on the state of the music industry, particularly in relation to electronic music.
Here are some of the key findings from this year's report:
- The number of paying customers for streaming services increased by 66% in 2015 compared to the previous year.
- South America and China are considered the biggest growth markets for the music industry.
- In the USA and the UK, streaming of dance music is growing rapidly. Electronic artists such as Kygo and Major Lazer dominated the streaming statistics on Spotify in 2015.
- The increase in the number of people attending electronic events in Europe and the USA continued as in previous years.
