The IMS Business Report is an annual industry study providing insights into the music business and the electronic music industry. The ninth edition of the IMS Ibiza has come to an end and the annual report has been issued -- here are the highlights:
- The number of paid subscribers for streaming services grew by 66% in 2015.
- Global music industry growth is driven by South Africa and China.
- In the US and in UK, streaming of dance music grew at a fast rate last year, while electronic artists such as Kygo and Major Lazer dominated the streaming service Spotify in 2015.
- More and more people across Europe attend dance music events, and in the US, electronic music events are the only ones showing an increase in attendance.
